10k runs in the North West: 188 10K races in 2026 and 2027, from Manchester to the Lakes, with dates, start locations and entry links. The North West is home to the biggest 10K in the country and to some of its smallest. The Great Manchester Run fills the city centre every May with a 10K and a half marathon on closed roads; a few weeks either side you can line up with a couple of hundred club runners on a Cheshire lane or a Lancashire seafront. Liverpool's waterfront and Sefton Park, Chester's Roman walls, Blackpool's promenade and the Lake District fells all have their own regular 10Ks, and the region's club scene keeps the winter calendar going when other parts of the country go quiet.

10ks worth knowing in the North West
The Great Manchester Run 10K in May is the one everybody knows: from Portland Street out past Old Trafford and Salford Quays and back to the finish on Deansgate, with crowds most of the way. The Chester 10K in March is a flat, fast early-season race that many runners use to open their year, and Liverpool, Preston and Salford all have city 10Ks with a strong local following. Out in the countryside, the Ribble Valley, the Fylde coast and the southern Lakes offer 10Ks that trade a PB for scenery.
