About the race
Phoenix Running brings The Cosmic Challenge - Taurus to Alexandra Park, Moss Side M16 7JL for the first time. The event uses a flat loop that follows the same outer route as parkrun. Each lap measures 1.10 miles and the course is described as flat, fast and scenic.
The event is chip timed and all laps must be completed with the organiser to count. A comprehensive race briefing will be sent ahead of the event. Registration is located near the Demesne Road exit inside the park, away from the parkrun start/finish at the café. Public transport is recommended; parking is available on Claremont Road a short walk from the park.
Aid station provisions are available throughout the day and include bananas, biscuits, crisps, full-fat cola, Irn-Bru and other items. Park toilets and the cafe are on site; early starters are advised that alternative toilets are available at the petrol station just outside the park. The café has toilets and serves coffee, cakes and sandwiches.
