AJ Bell Great Manchester Run : 23 May 2027
The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is a city-centre running event held in Manchester with two distance options: a 10K and a half marathon. Tens of thousands of runners take part, moving through central streets and past city landmarks including Coronation Street and the Imperial War Museum. The course starts on Portland Street near the junction with Oxford Street and finishes on Deansgate.
Event services and features include:
- Official event day tracking and results via a free Great Run app.
- Official event photos available to view and purchase after the race.
- A medal, an optional finisher’s t-shirt, and a finisher’s bag.
- Race numbers personalised with the runner’s name.
- Music and entertainment zones along the route and local spectator support.
- Free 10k and half marathon training plans and guidance.
Practical information provided to participants notes that race numbers with timing chips are normally posted from about four weeks before the event. Entries secured on or after the postage cut-off (on or after 20 May) must collect race packs at the event information point. A baggage drop is located in Exchange Hall, Manchester Central; participants must attach a baggage label from their race number. A rolling programme of road closures will operate on event day and the course map and zone information are published by the organiser.
