AJ Bell Great Manchester Run - 31 May 2026
The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run takes place in Manchester on 31 May 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 10k
- Half marathon
Entries are open with a saver and final price listed for each distance. A booking fee of £3.00 per entry applies. The event is open to runners aged 15 and over for the 10k and 17 and over for the half marathon. The organiser states that tens of thousands of runners take part each year. The Alzheimer’s Society is named as the official charity for the AJ Bell Great Run Series.
Route, waves and event services
Both races start on Portland Street near the junction with Oxford Street and finish on Deansgate. The half marathon begins with an incline and finishes with some downhill sections. The 10k includes a downhill near the start and a short incline toward the end. Waves are allocated by estimated time; participants may move to a slower wave but not to a faster one. Baggage buses are provided near the start on Deansgate for the half marathon and on Hardman Street and Jackson’s Row for the 10k. Race numbers with timing chips are posted 1-2 weeks before the event, with morning collection for late entries. The event offers a free tracking app, event photos and results. Finishers receive a medal, a finishers t-shirt and a finisher’s bag. Runners can opt out of the finisher tee to trigger a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal, with an approximate donation commitment of £20,000.
