About the race
Run Media City 5k & 10k takes place on 27 May 2027 in MediaCity UK, Salford. The event offers two measured race distances and is based around the Media City Piazza.

The course is a 2.5 km lap on tarmac and paved paths that passes the Millennium Bridge, the Imperial War Museum and the ITV and BBC television studios. The route starts and finishes in the Media City Piazza and is run on repeated laps as required for each distance. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals guide runners around the course.
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip timed results, free race photos, post race goodies and a bag drop. Timed results contribute to national rankings. Event services include an event village with food and drink options and free finish line items from partners. An event t shirt is available to buy at a reduced price when added to the entry.
Practical details given for the event include a two hour cut off, minimum ages of 15 for the 10 km and 11 for the 5 km, a secure baggage marquee, and water stations positioned for laps. Buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome; running with a dog is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
