September 2026
The untimed 1 Mile Warrior Walk uses the same course as the 5K and starts from the Dogwood Pavilion at Oak Mountain State Park. Park admission is included with registration and the route runs on paved roads through the park's natural surroundings.
Walkers complete a 1.2 Miles ruck starting at 2415 7th Ave S, Birmingham AL, carrying 18 pound ruck sacks as a symbolic burden for Veterans. Entry is free.
October 2026
Walkers can choose a 1 Mile walk alongside the 5K events from EBSCO Industries West Gate Park at Railroad Park in Birmingham. The family friendly route follows a picturesque seaside course with ocean breeze and morning packet pickup available.
Walkers can follow a 3 Miles course starting at 1600 1st Avenue S, Birmingham alongside the running events. The event is presented by The American Legion to raise awareness of veteran suicide.
Walkers follow loop courses of 13 miles or 6 miles at Oak Mountain State Park on trails with hills; aid is halfway on the 13 miles course and water halfway on the 6 miles, and headlamp and hydration are required.
November 2026
Walkers can choose a 1 mile fun walk alongside the 5K, both starting at Crestline Elementary School. The route goes through Crestline Village and returns to the school, and dogs are welcome.
January 2027
The 1 Miles run/walk starts and finishes at the KEYSYS office, 3928 Cypress Dr., Vestavia Hills, and follows a course through the Cahaba Heights neighborhoods. The event is family friendly and permits strollers and pets.
Walkers can choose the 3.1 Miles run walk or the shorter 1 Miles fun run through a downtown Birmingham block party starting at 1700 4th Ave S. Race packet pick up is available 4/09 and 4/10 at Ronald McDonald House Alabama 11am to 6pm.
May 2027
Walkers can choose 5K or 1 Mile routes in Homewood Central Park at 1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood AL. The 5K is USATF certified and walkers are welcome for in person and virtual entries, with packet pickup available before the event.
Walkers have 5M or 5K options from the Trussville Senior Citizens Center. The technical single track loop is roughly 90% trail with switchbacks and elevation changes, and has one aid station mid course plus aid at start and finish.
