Christmas Classic 5k : Overview
The Christmas Classic 5k takes place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama (200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, AL 35124). The event includes a main 5k, a 5k 12 & under registration category, and the Candy Cane Challenge kids event. Registration for each event closes on December 20, 2025. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $45 for the main 5k and $20 for the 12 & under and kids events.
Event details and logistics
All participants and attendees are required to pay a $5 park admission gate fee to Oak Mountain State Park. The organizer will provide custom Christmas Classic 5k swag to the first 200 registered participants. The race offers two finish-line options: a Polar Plunge finish line that requires a $20 donation to benefit the Alabama Wildlife Center, with proceeds directed to the center, and a non-plunge finish line for those who do not wish to participate in the plunge. The event features an Alabama Wildlife Center predator flyover to start the race, opportunities to meet some of the center’s birds and other local animals, a post-race brunch, reusable race cups provided by the sponsor SouthernBiotech, and awards for tacky sweater entries.
