The Sam Lapidus Montclair Run

The Sam Lapidus Montclair Run is the 50th annual edition of a community running event held on November 26, 2026 at the Levite Jewish Community Center, 3960 Montclair Road, Birmingham, AL 35213. The event includes road race distances, a fun run, and a virtual absentee option. Two courses are USATF certified with these course IDs: AL15009JE and AL15008JE.

Participants and guests are part of an event that donates part of each registration to the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama; the host reports more than $100,000 raised to support pediatric cancer research and patient care. The organizer offers a commemorative 50th anniversary shirt; registrants who prefer a guaranteed shirt and specific size must register by November 10, 2026. Remaining shirts are distributed from existing inventory on a first come, first served basis.

Packet pick-up takes place at the Levite Jewish Community Center with a pre-race pick-up at the main lobby the day before the race and race day pick-up at the LJCC Wood Gym. The event program includes a costume contest with awards for best-dressed and most creative runners and groups.
