MLK Day Drum Run - Birmingham
The MLK Day Drum Run in Birmingham is presented by The Leftover Energy Foundation Inc. This event marks the 11th annual race and will be offered both in person and virtually at 1700 4th Ave North, Birmingham, AL. The event gathers diverse community groups to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day with fellowship and fitness activities.
The race course features drumline performances from Birmingham area schools and organizations along the full route. Each participating drumline will receive a donation to its band booster association. Event services include a warm up, music, timing, sponsors, and a race goodie bag that includes the official MLK Day 5K Drum Run shirt for race entrants.
Distances offered:
- 5K: timed, race numbers provided, optional T-shirt, finisher medal included
- 10K: run only, timed, course splits from the 5K, optional T-shirt, medal included
- 1 Mile Fun Run Walk Youth: ages 12 and younger, child T-shirt included, not timed
- 1 Mile Fun Run Walk Adult: ages 13 and older, adult T-shirt optional, not timed
