10k Runs UK 2026-2027

Header image

The 10k runs calendar for the UK: 1662 10K races in 2026 and 2027, with dates, start locations and entry links. The 10K is the distance most British runners race first and keep coming back to: long enough to need a training plan, short enough to fit into a Sunday morning and still be home for lunch. On almost any weekend there is a 10K somewhere between Cornwall and the Highlands, from closed-road city races with tens of thousands of entries to club events on country lanes and multi-terrain 10Ks through forest and farmland.

What counts as a 10k here?

This calendar lists events with a 10K race on the programme, a distance of just over 6.2 miles. The 10K is often one option within a bigger weekend, alongside a 5K, a half marathon or a family mile, and each race page shows all the distances on offer with start times and a link to the official entry. Ten-milers and other off-standard distances are not included; the distance slider at the top of the page widens the search. Many British 10Ks are UKA-licensed and run on a measured course, which is what you want if you are chasing a personal best.

What is a good 10k time?

The winners of the big city 10Ks finish in under 30 minutes. For the rest of the field the spread is wide: sub-40 is a strong club runner's time, sub-50 a solid target for anyone who trains a few times a week, and the hour mark is the classic goal for a first 10K. Most finishers at the large mass-participation races come in somewhere between 45 minutes and 1 hour 15. Flat, measured courses in cool weather are where the PBs happen, which is why the spring and autumn races fill up first.

When is 10k season?

There is a 10K somewhere in the UK on almost every weekend of the year, but the calendar is busiest from March to May and again in September and October, when the weather is kind and the big city races take place. Summer brings midweek evening 10Ks and seaside races, while winter has its own traditions: Boxing Day and New Year's Day 10Ks, with cross country in between. The Great Manchester Run in May is the largest 10K in Europe, the London 10,000 starts on The Mall and finishes outside Buckingham Palace, the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow puts a 10K next to its half marathon in October, and the Leeds Abbey Dash in November is one of the fastest 10Ks in the country.
