The event is run as a 7 hour timed challenge that gives participants control over how many laps they complete, with a minimum distance of 5 km. A full lap is usually 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Typical lap counts are 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or more for an ultra. The course follows a stretch of the River Thames, is fully signed and is mainly on well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section. Road running shoes are suitable year round.
Facilities and services include a full aid station with vegan options, goody bags with a vegan option, toilets, a bag drop and distance pins. Spectators are welcome.
