About the race
The DH River Run is a 10k road running event in Carlisle on 25 October 2026. The course is an out and back along the river path from Denton Holme toward Dalston and includes one water station. The start and finish are located on Denton Street between Holme Head House and the junction with North Street.
Race day logistics include parking at Rome Street Car Park CA2 5LE. Registration, toilets, prize presentation and post-race refreshments will be at Denton Holme WMCC, 1 Morley Street CA2 5HQ. Registration opens at 8:30 and closes at 9:30, with a race briefing in the start area prior to the event.
Entry details: the event is open to participants aged 16 and over, with a total of 230 places. Entry fees are £21 for unaffiliated runners and £19 for affiliated runners; £1 from each entry will be donated to the Well Communities Charity. Refunds of 50% plus an administration fee are available until 11 October; there are no refunds after that date and entries are non-transferable.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to first male and female in under 18, V40, V50, V60 and V70 categories. A post race buffet will be provided. Event photos will be taken by Fellside Photography and will be available free after the event. Live results will be published online by the event timing provider.
