Event overview
Tough Mutter is an obstacle course race for dogs and owners held on Aske estate near Richmond, North Yorkshire (DL10 5EZ). The event date is 25 October 2026. Entries open 27 November 2025 and close 23 October 2026. The venue is a private estate adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

For adult-plus-dog courses the stated age requirement is 18 years or older. Child categories cover ages 12 to 18 with specific age brackets: the 5 km child category is for 12 to 18 year olds, and the 10 km child category is for 16 to 18 year olds. Children aged 12 to 15 in child categories must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fees listed are: £40 for the 10 km adult-plus-dog, £37 for the 5 km adult-plus-dog, and lower fees for child entries. An extra dog entry is available for an additional fee.
Course terrain and obstacles
Routes run off road through marsh, bog, woodland, rough hilly ground, tracks and fields. The 10 km and 5 km courses contain many marked obstacles: minimum counts are 53 for the 10 km and 38 for the 5 km. Each obstacle is marked for whether it can be attempted with a dog; most obstacles include a tie-up point to secure a dog while the owner completes the obstacle. The finish section includes an 850 metre assault course of deep mud and water with more than 24 obstacles. The obstacles are described as large, tightly spread, and often multi-component.
