10k Runs in Wales 2026-2027

Header image

10k runs in Wales: 95 10K races in 2026 and 2027, from Cardiff to Anglesey, with dates, start locations and entry links. Wales packs a lot of running into a small country. The Cardiff 10K in September starts in the Civic Centre, passes the castle and loops out through Pontcanna Fields, the Swansea Bay 10K the same month follows the seafront out and back along Mumbles Road, and the Newport Marathon Festival in April has a 10K on the programme too. Away from the south coast, Wrexham, Bangor and Aberystwyth have their own club races, and Eryri (Snowdonia), Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) and the Pembrokeshire coast host trail 10Ks that are worth the journey on their own.

What to expect from a Welsh 10k

The big south Wales races are closed-road, chip-timed and flat enough for a PB, with the Cardiff and Swansea 10Ks both drawing several thousand runners each autumn. Elsewhere the fields are smaller and the courses hillier, and the atmosphere is very much that of a club race: a village hall, a measured course and a cup of tea at the finish. The season runs from March to October with a busy summer of evening 10Ks along the coast, and a few festive races see out the year. Most events also offer a 5K or a fun run on the same day; the race page shows the full programme with a link to the official entry.
