Newtown 10K Run
The Newtown 10K takes place on Sunday 30th May 2027 in Newtown, with event headquarters at Open Newtown, Back Lane, Newtown, SY16 2NH. The race is a single one-lap 10 km held on fully closed roads and pathways, with a fast start and finish in the town centre and riverside sections that offer clear views alongside the River Severn.
Parking is available in the town centre; free parking is provided at Back Lane Car Park with 404 bays. The event HQ and start/finish are a short walk from several town centre car parks.
Race operations include a 90 minute cut off for safety. Roads on the route will be closed for short periods; residents should move vehicles before closures begin and follow diversion information. Marshals manage safety on the course and spectators are asked to remain off the running line until runners have passed. The course has good pavement coverage and spectators can watch from paths alongside the river or from the start and finish areas.
Prizes are awarded to the top three female and top three male finishers and to 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male). All finishers receive a finishers medal. Results and race photos are published after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
