Event overview
The Newtown 10K is a town-centre road running event held on Sunday 24 May 2026. The event uses fully closed roads and pathways and is described as a one-lap 10K course that starts and finishes in Newtown town centre. The route runs alongside the River Severn and participants receive a finishers medal.
The participant field ranges from first-time runners to competitive runners. Results and event photos are published after the race.
Logistics and rules
Event headquarters and the start/finish are at Open Newtown, Back Lane, Newtown, SY16 2NH, within a short walk of several town-centre car parks. Free parking is provided at Back Lane Car Park (404 bays). A course map is available on Strava. Roads on the route will be closed for safety and will re-open in line with race progress.
The organisers state a race cut-off time of 90 minutes; runners who fall behind this pace may be asked to withdraw for safety. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male). A charity partner is listed as to be confirmed.
