Newtown 10K Run
The Newtown 10K is a one-lap road running event based in Newtown, with the event HQ, start and finish located at Open Newtown, Back Lane, Newtown, SY16 2NH. The course uses fully closed roads and pathways and includes riverside sections along the River Severn.
The route is described as a fast one-lap course with strong start and finish sections and good pavement coverage for spectators. All finishers receive a finishers medal. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers, plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male).
The event brings together a range of participants, from nervous first-timers to competitive runners. For safety the organisers operate road closures and marshals manage the course; many roads will be closed only for short periods. There is a published race cut off time of 90 minutes and slower runners may be asked to withdraw for safety reasons.
Event HQ and the start/finish are within walking distance of several town-centre car parks. Free parking is available at Back Lane Car Park with 404 bays. The listed charity partner and some travel parking details are shown as TBC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
