Newtown 10K Run
The Newtown 10K is a road running event scheduled for Sunday 30th May 2027. The race is a single lap covering 10 km and uses fully closed roads and pathways in and around the town centre.
The course starts and finishes at Open Newtown, Back Lane, Newtown, SY16 2NH, with the event HQ a short walk from several town centre car parks. The route includes a riverside section alongside the River Severn and is described as having a fast opening and finishing section. All finishers receive a finishers medal.
Organisers provide on-site parking at Back Lane Car Park with 404 bays. The event enforces a race cut-off time of 90 minutes; roads reopen in line with that pace and participants falling behind may be asked to withdraw for safety reasons.
Spectator arrangements reflect the closed-road format: marshals will manage the course, and spectators are advised to use pavements and paths alongside the river where available. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male). The charity partner is listed as to be confirmed.
