Welsh Festival Of Running - 50 Mile Challenge
The event is a 50 mile challenge held as part of the inaugural Welsh Festival Of Running at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare CF44 7PS. Entrants may take up to 24 hours to complete the full 50 miles, with both individual and team entry options available.
The course is a 5 mile loop to be completed ten times for the full distance. The lap format removes the need for navigation and keeps runners close to race headquarters, personal kit and support. Participants who choose to stop before completing all laps receive a recorded finish distance and time for the distance they completed.
On-course support includes a comprehensive aid table and food provision that will include pizza for runners continuing into the evening. There is a dedicated room where participants can rest with hot and cold refreshments available. Organisers note an intent to provide support to help entrants reach their goal.
