Ultra X Wales, 25 to 26 July 2026

Ultra X Wales is a multi-distance trail event in the Brecon Beacons / Bannau Brycheiniog based around Abergavenny. The programme for 2026 includes six race options over two days and on nearby terrain of hills and valleys. Those aged under 23 on race day may enter any distance for free.

Distances and elevation:

  • 110 km single-stage, elevation 4,816 m
  • 110 km two-stage, elevation 4,816 m
  • 60 km, elevation 2,650 m
  • 50 km, elevation 2,166 m
  • 25 km, elevation 929 m
  • 12 km, elevation 466 m

The event carries UTMB® Index status in the 100k, 50k and 20k categories. Organisers provide course marking, medical support on course, checkpoints with drinking water and snacks, and GPS trackers for competitors. Camping is available at Llangorse Activity Centre on the Friday and Saturday nights. A race pack with detailed information, kit lists and cut-offs is sent to registered participants one month before the event.

Cutoff policy uses a time allowance of 2.5 hours per 10 km. If a competitor cannot finish a stage, they are offered entry to the next edition at half price; no finisher medal or official result is given in that case. Additional support options such as therapist treatment at the finish are available as an option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
