Ultra X Wales
Ultra X Wales is a multi-distance trail running event in the Brecon Beacons, based around Abergavenny. It takes place on 25 to 26 July 2026 and uses new trails in the hills and valleys of Bannau Brycheiniog.
The event offers six race options:
- 110 km single stage
- 110 km over two stages
- 60 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 12 km
Those under the age of 23 on race day can enter any distance for free. Participants may camp at Llangorse Activity Centre on the Friday and Saturday nights. A full Race Pack with detailed information, timings and cut-offs is emailed to registered participants one month before the event.
Races hold UTMB Index status in the 100k, 50k and 20k categories. The event provides a fully marked course, medical support throughout the route, drinking water and snacks at checkpoints, hot water for campsite food preparation, GPS trackers and ground safety assistance. Cutoffs use a time allowance of 2.5 hours per 10 km. If a participant cannot finish a stage, they are offered entry to the next edition at half price but will not receive a finisher’s medal or an official result.
The Great British Slam award recognises runners who finish the ultra distances at Ultra X Scotland, Ultra X Wales and Ultra X England within the same calendar year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
