The Bangor City 10K & Half Marathon takes place in North Wales, offering a route that transitions from an urban setting to the natural coastline. The course starts and finishes in the city centre, directing participants out toward the coast and along the Garth Pier. Runners cross over the Menai Straits, with views of Anglesey, Snowdonia, and the North Wales coastline. The route also includes sections through woodland paths.
Available distances include:
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
The event is conducted under UK Athletics rules. Due to partial road closures, the use of headphones is prohibited, with the exception of bone-conducting headphones. Participants are expected to maintain a pace of 12-15 minutes per mile. Those running outside this time limit may be required to move to pavements and follow the highway code as a pedestrian, as marshals and road closures may not remain in place.
Event facilities include a race headquarters for number and chip collection, baggage storage for small bags, and drinking stations located approximately every three miles and at the finish. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a technical t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in each age category.
