Bangor City 10K & Half Marathon

The event takes place on October 4, 2026. There are two distances: a 10K and a Half Marathon. Both races start at 10:00 AM.

The course starts and finishes in the Bangor city centre, next to the Deiniol Shopping Centre. The route goes along the coastline and the Garth Pier over the Menai Straits, offering views of Anglesey, Snowdonia, and the North Wales coastline. It then continues onto woodland paths before returning to the city centre.

All finishers receive a technical T-shirt and a bespoke medal. Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers overall and for first place in each age category.

Logistics and Rules

Race HQ opens at 8:00 AM for number and chip collection. Parking is available as pay-and-display in the town centre, but there is no official event parking. Toilets are located near the start at Bangor bus station.

Drink stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and at the finish. A professional medical team provides first aid cover. A baggage area is available for small bags, but valuables should not be left.

The course does not have a full road closure. Runners are asked to keep a pace of 12-15 minutes per mile. Those running slower may need to use pavements and follow pedestrian rules as marshals and road closures may not be available for the entire duration. Standard headphones are not permitted, except for bone-conducting models. Littering outside designated areas can lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
