Bangor City 10K & Half Marathon
The event in Bangor, Gwynedd, features two distance options: a 10K and a half marathon. Both races start and finish in the city centre and include a coastal section that crosses the Menai Straits via Garth Pier, with views of Anglesey, Snowdonia and the North Wales coastline. The route also passes woodland paths noted for autumn colours before returning to the city centre.
Race headquarters and number and chip collection are located next to the Deiniol Shopping Centre and open from 8:00 am. There is no official parking; participants should use town centre pay and display parking. The postcode for sat nav is LL57 1NW.
Drink stations are provided at approximately every three miles and at the finish; participants who require extra water are advised to carry a bottle. Toilets and changing facilities are near the start and finish at the Bangor bus station; a city centre swimming pool is available for showers for a charge. First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team with stations at the start, finish and on course.
All finishers receive a technical T shirt and a bespoke medal. Baggage can be left in a designated area but valuables should not be left in bags. Headphones are not allowed except bone conducting models. There is a strict time limit requiring each mile to be completed in under 15 minutes; failure to meet this will result in elimination after the third mile. Entry fees range from £34 to £46. Results will be posted on runwales.com later the same day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
