Porthcawl 10K and Junior Races
The Porthcawl 10K is a seaside road race held in Porthcawl, taking place on Sunday 27 June 2027 along the Promenade and surrounding coastal areas. The route uses fully closed roads and passes several local landmarks and coastal viewpoints, including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the town centre, the Grand Pavilion and Porthcawl Lighthouse. Runners pass through Trecco Bay Holiday Park and the town shopping area on John Street, where live music features during the race. The course offers panoramic views across Newton Bay and Sandy Bay.
Race entries include a mailed race pack within a week of the event. 10K entry benefits include a finishers medal, a technical race t-shirt, an on-course water station, pacers in every start wave, Event Village facilities and live tracking via the Run 4 Wales app. Wheelchair entry is permitted in both the 10K and the Fun Run; buggies are permitted only in the Fun Run.
Family and junior activity on the same day includes a Fun Run, a Toddler Dash and a Future Challengers race for younger participants. The event is part of the Run 4 Wales 10K Series and lists Tŷ Hafan as a charity partner. The 2026 event had more than 6,800 entries across the 10K and junior races.
