Porthcawl 10K and Junior Races
The Porthcawl 10K is a road race held on 27 June 2027 on Porthcawl Esplanade in the seaside town of Porthcawl. The course runs on fully closed roads and passes coastal landmarks and seaside spots including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the town centre, the historic Grand Pavilion and Porthcawl Lighthouse. Runners see panoramic views across Newton Bay, Trecco Bay and Sandy Bay and pass through Trecco Bay Holiday Park. Live music features on John Street and the start and finish area outside the Porthcawl Pavilion is accompanied by an Event Village on the Promenade.
Race entry includes a finishers medal, a technical race t-shirt, an on-course water station, pacers in every start wave, Event Village facilities and live tracking via the Run 4 Wales app. A running number will be posted to participants within a week of the event.
Junior races run after the main race and include a Fun Run, a Toddler Dash and the competitive Future Challengers race for younger athletes. Wheelchair entry is permitted in both the 10K and the Fun Run; buggies are allowed only in the Fun Run. The event forms part of the Run 4 Wales 10K Series and lists Tŷ Hafan as a charity partner, which provides free care and support to children and families in hospice and community settings.
