Chirk 10k Run
The Chirk 10 km run brings together a local community of people taking part in a road race for fitness, competition, charity, health or to finish. Participants range across different ages and abilities. The minimum age to take part is 15 years.
Race headquarters is at Caffi Wylfa and the start and finish are on Station Road next to Caffi Wylfa. Event parking is provided at Kronospan in Chirk (LL14 5NT), about a ten minute walk from the start/finish. The race start and finish are a short walk from the parking area. Music and an event help desk are available at the venue.
The route passes the grounds of Chirk Castle and uses nearby country lanes, offering a mix of faster sections and inclines. All finishers receive a medal and goodies, plus a family pass for Chirk Castle valued at £49 handed out with the finishers pack. Prizes include top three female and top three male overall and seven age group awards for both sexes.
For safety the event uses fully closed roads and marshals. A race cut off of 90 minutes is in place; roads will re-open in line with this pace and runners who fall behind may be asked to withdraw.
