Chirk 10k Run
The Chirk 10k is a community road running event held in Chirk, Wrexham. Race headquarters is at Caffi Wylfa and the start and finish are on Station Road next to Caffi Wylfa. Parking is provided at Kronospan, LL14 5NT, which is about a ten minute walk from the start/finish area.
The course runs around the grounds of Chirk Castle and along nearby country lanes. The route contains a mix of faster sections and uphill sections. A course map and event information are published for participants.
Runners receive a finishers medal, event goodies, and a family pass for Chirk Castle valued at £49 on completion. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven age group awards for both sexes. The minimum age to enter is 15 years.
Road closures are used for runner safety; spectators are asked to follow marshals’ instructions and remain off the course until runners have passed. The event has a published race cut off time of 90 minutes and runners who fall behind this pace may be asked to withdraw for safety. The event names The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital as its charity partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
