August 2026
Walkers can join the organized 2 mile speed walk at 4200 Empire Dr, Yokuts Park, Bakersfield on a family friendly course alongside the 6K running events. Bib pickup is at Yokuts Park on race day and the event includes music and refreshments.
September 2026
Walkers can choose the 2 miles speed walk on a flat course starting and finishing at Yokuts Park, held alongside the running races. Top five male and female walkers receive awards and the event offers chip timing and Mexican food and drinks.
The event offers a not timed 5K walk at Riverwalk Park in Bakersfield amid the festival and vendor fair. Early registration for the 5K walk is $10 and survivors may register free; a survivor tent provides food and a wristband for one guest.
October 2026
Walkers can join the timed 5K run/walk or the untimed 1K Celebration Walk at The Park at Riverwalk in Bakersfield. The 1K is a leisurely family stroll around the lake, and walkers are welcome alongside runners in the 5K.
Walkers choose 13.1 Miles, 6.2 Miles or 3.1 Miles, all start and finish at Sam Lynn Ballpark on Kern River paved trail, dirt trails in Panorama Park and paved roads. Aid stations, porta potties and free breakfast provided.
