Event Overview
Runnin' To The Rig is a fundraising run/walk event at Bakersfield High School. This is the second edition of the event. The main goal is to build community and raise funds for the school.
Distances
The event includes four registration categories:
- A 5k run/walk for adults
- A 5k for BHS staff and students
- A 5k for kids (13 and under)
- A 2k walk
Course Details
The 5k course is described as a nostalgic route throughout the historic school campus, finishing near the famous football tunnel in Griffith Stadium. The 2k walk is described as meandering around the campus and through some of the buildings. The walk starts after the run.
Participant Perks
All finishers receive medals. Race t-shirts can be purchased for an extra fee during registration, with a guarantee on sizes only for registrations completed by January 30th. Participants are encouraged to stay after the event for pictures on historic Griffith Field.
Registration & Logistics
Registration fees vary by category. The event offers packet and t-shirt pickup on the Friday before and on the day of the race at the stadium parking lot near Griffith Stadium.
