Course, categories and amenities
Both the half marathon and 5k courses are described as flat, paved, out-and-back. All participants receive a finisher's medal and age group awards are given for the half marathon and 5k. Special weight-based categories are offered: Clydesdale for men over 225 lbs and Athena for women over 185 lbs; runners must register in those categories to qualify and those categories are not included in the 5k age group awards.
Additional listed amenities include tacos, Mexican Rosca de Reyes bread, hot chocolate, music, folklorico and unique medals. Early registrants by December 15 receive a hoodie; later registrants receive a shirt. Prize details include $100 for the overall top male and female in the half marathon and $200 in cash to the team with the most participants. Bib pickup is provided on race day only at Yokuts Park.
