Honor Run
The Honor Run is the Kern County Sheriff's Employees' Benefit Association 13th annual event held at Section 2 of Hart Park in Bakersfield, California. The event includes multiple distances and offers options for runners and walkers.
The available distances are:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 1K kids run for ages 5 to 10
Proceeds will be donated to the Kern County Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association to assist families of fallen deputies through scholarships and to support the Sheriff's Activities League supervised youth programs. Online registration opens on October 14, 2026 and closes on March 1, 2027; shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed before January 3, 2027. Standard registration fees listed are $40 for the 5K and 10K and $20 for the Kids 1K. Race day registration fees are listed as $60 for the 5K and 10K and $20 for the Kids 1K; online processing fees are not included.
A pre-race packet pick-up is scheduled for March 4, 2027 at the Kern County Regional Training Center, 962 Norris Road, Bakersfield 93308. Parking is available around the park near the start area. Medals are awarded for first through third place in each division and there is a runners raffle. Participants may walk the route; strollers and leashed dogs are allowed and water bowls will be provided at turnaround points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
