August 2026
Walk options include 5K and 1 Mile on a chip timed course on local streets, starting and finishing at the Atkins City Park Pavilion on the west side of the park. Packets are available for pickup before the race.
The event offers a 6K Run and Walk starting in downtown Springville on an alternate route through town since the quarry is unavailable. Packet pickup is on race day in the Springville Presbyterian Church parking lot at 165 Broadway St.
Walkers follow the 5K course at Memorial Park in Palo IA on a route that is nearly all hard surface. Early registration guarantees a T shirt or one can be bought for an extra $5, and walkers have age divisions with awards.
September 2026
The Mental Health Matters 5K walk starts at Stillwater Coffee, 1275 North Center Point Rd in Hiawatha and follows a community course. The walk is held alongside the run as a memorial event promoting mental health awareness and community support.
October 2026
Walkers can choose 5K or 1 Mile routes starting at 701 10th St. SE in Cedar Rapids alongside the 5K run. The event supports free mammograms and other breast care services, and walking registration fee is $32.
Walkers are accepted on the shorter route 4M at Backbone State Park on a trail with lumps, bumps, rocks, roots and ruts and with sections that may be muddy. The loop is a moderate hike and will have signs warning for any tricky spots.
November 2026
The event uses the 1.2 mile woodland loop at Pinicon Ridge Park Central City IA, hilly with two climbs, stairs and 215 ft gain per lap. Direction flips every two hours; aid stations serve hot food; heated lodge; no pets or strollers.
Walkers can follow the chip timed 5K route through downtown Cedar Rapids and the Cedar River Trail, starting and finishing at 1st St SE and 6th Ave SE. Water stations are on course and strollers are allowed in the back of the start corral.
