Backbone Trail Run

Backbone Trail Run is a trail run and walk held at Backbone State Park on October 10, 2026. The event offers natural surface routes that include uneven terrain, rocks, roots, ruts and other typical trail features. Course signs will warn where extra caution is advisable. Parts of the route may be muddy so participants should consider appropriate footwear.

Routes include:

• 4 miles The Original route
• 10K Lake Loop hard route

Walkers are accepted only on the shorter four mile route; that shorter loop is described as a moderate hike. There will be no award ceremony; winners will be acknowledged as they cross the finish line. Day of registration is available.

Proceeds benefit Backbone State Park. The Backbone Friends Group provides funding for park projects and purchases that the regular park budget does not cover, including watershed protection, promotional support, playground equipment and tree purchases.
