Atkins Watermelon Days 5k Walk/Run and 1 Mile Fun Run : Atkins, IA
Atkins Watermelon Days includes a 5K walk/run and a 1 Mile fun run on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with start and finish at the Atkins City Park Pavilion on the west side of the park. The events take place on local streets and the course will be chip timed.

Packets may be picked up before the race at the Atkins City Park Pavilion on the west side of the park. Registration opens on different dates for each event: the 5K registration opens April 1, 2026, and the 1 Mile registration opens April 20, 2026; registration closes on August 8, 2026. The registration fee is $30 and includes a t-shirt for registrations made by July 13, 2026.
Awards are given to the top three places in each division and trophies are awarded to the overall male and female finishers. For the 1 Mile event, the top three overall finishers receive awards. Age divisions for both female and male categories are: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
