Event Overview

The Atkins Watermelon Days 5k Walk/Run 2026 is a single-distance event covering 5 km. It takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Atkins, Iowa.

Course and Location

The start and finish line is located at the Atkins City Park Pavilion on the west side of the park. The course runs on the streets of Atkins. The event uses chip timing.

Registration and Awards

The registration fee is $30, which includes a t-shirt for registrations completed by July 13, 2026. Packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM at the Atkins City Park Pavilion on race day.

Awards are given to the top three places in each division. Trophies are awarded to the overall male and female runners. Age divisions are separated by gender and include:

Females: 13 & Under, 14–19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50–59, 60–69, 70 & Over
Males: 13 & Under, 14–19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50–59, 60–69, 70 & Over
