Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot - Cedar Rapids, IA
The Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot is a chip timed Thanksgiving 5K held in downtown Cedar Rapids and along the Cedar River Trail on November 26, 2026. The event includes a kids dash and fun run categories alongside the main 5K, and the 5K has a course time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes.
Finish-line refreshments include Donutland donuts. Participants receive runner's choice event gear with an option to upgrade to a thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in the chip timed category; age groups run from 10 and under through 70+.
Packet pick-up is offered before the event and on race morning; exact pick-up details are posted in advance. Participant gear must be picked up at pre-event pickup or on race day; mailing or post-race requests may be subject to fees. There is no gear check at the event site. All water stations provide water.
The event supports Best Buddies, an organization working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build friendships, employment skills, independent living skills, and self-advocacy. The Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot is part of the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk series, with results included on a national leader board.
