Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot - Cedar Rapids, IA
The Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot is a community 5K event held in Cedar Rapids on November 26, 2026. The course runs through downtown Cedar Rapids and along the Cedar River Trail, with the start and finish located at 1st St SE and 6th Ave SE. The event is chip timed and the 5K course has a posted time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes. In addition to the 5K there is a kids dash and multiple fun-run categories.
Finish-line amenities include Donutland donuts. Participants choose between a classic event t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Purchased add-on finisher medals and participant gear must be picked up at pre-event packet pickup or at the event; mailing of participant gear is available for a fee if not collected. There is no gear check at the event site.
The event supports Best Buddies and aggregates results into a national Thankful Turkey leader board. Results, photos, and awards are posted after the event; awards go to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in the chip-timed category. Age groups start at 10 & under and continue in standard ranges up through 70+.
Practical notes: street parking is available but may be affected by course closures; headphones and personal audio devices are allowed but may impair hazard awareness; dogs are not permitted and strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only, starting from the back of the corral.
