Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot
The Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The main distance is a chip-timed 5K that runs through downtown Cedar Rapids and along the Cedar River Trail, with the start and finish at 1st St SE and 6th Ave SE. The event includes fun run and kids dash categories and a course time limit for the 5K.
Participant services include packet pick up at Lindale Mall on Saturday, 11/22/2025, and Wednesday, 11/26/2025, plus an option to pick up on event morning (event morning pickup may involve a wait). Participant gear generally must be picked up in person; there may be a fee to have gear mailed after the event. There is no gear check on site. Water stations provide water along the course.
The event offers runner’s choice commemorative gear and features Donutland Donuts at the finish line. Results and photos are posted after the event, and awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in the chip-timed category. Age groups start at 10 & under and extend in five-year bands through 70+. The event supports Best Buddies. No dogs are allowed; strollers are permitted for walkers and joggers only with a guardian waiver. The run proceeds rain, snow or shine unless dangerous conditions require delay.
