Woodpecker Six - Six hour trail endurance run

Woodpecker Six is a six hour endurance run scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City, Iowa. The park property is described as 966 acres and the event location is listed as 4732 Horseshoe Falls Rd.

The course is a roughly 1.2 mile loop on woodland trails. Each loop includes two large climbs with multiple stairs and about 215 feet of elevation gain. Race organizers will change the course direction every two hours so participants run the loop in both directions.

Event amenities include a start/finish area with hearty hot aid station foods and warm and cold beverages, a long sleeve race shirt, and awards for participants who complete 24 loops or more. Woodpecker lodge offers heated indoor space for drop bags and there is outdoor space for canopies and staging. The event proceeds note that any additional funds will be donated to Pinicon Ridge Park for trail improvements. The race is planned to proceed in rain or snow.
