Woodpecker Six

Woodpecker Six is a six hour endurance run scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, held at Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City, IA. The event location is listed as 4732 Horseshoe Falls Rd inside the 966 acre Linn County park.

The marked course is an approximately 1.2 mile trail loop that runs mostly on woodland trails. Each loop includes two large climbs and multiple stairs and has about 215 feet of elevation gain. Course direction will change every two hours so participants experience the loop in both directions.

Event services include an aid station offering hearty hot foods and a variety of warm and cold beverages at the start and finish area. A long sleeve race shirt is provided, and special awards are planned for runners who complete 24 loops or more. Woodpecker lodge offers heated indoor space for runner drop bags and the site also has ample outdoor space for canopies and staging. Any additional funds from the event will be donated to Pinicon Ridge Park for trail improvements. The organizer requests that no pets or strollers be brought to the event.
