Medal Madness at Merritt Island
The Medal Madness event at Merritt Island, Florida, features a road-running competition held at Kelly Park West. Organized by US Road Running, the event takes place on an asphalt surface. The starting area is located near the tennis courts, where participants can also find restroom facilities in the nearby pavilion.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 5K
- 10K
The course follows a 0.78-mile out-and-back layout, totaling 1.56 miles per full lap. High-distance flexibility is achieved through multiple laps: those in the 5K category complete the course twice, while those in the 10K category complete it four times. A course time limit of 2 hours is in place for all participants.
All runners must register in advance through the online portal, as there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is scheduled to begin 30 minutes before the start and concludes 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the race. Finisher medals are awarded to those who complete their respective distances, and the event also features a best-costume competition alongside traditional awards and series points.
