Ron Jon Cocoa Beach Triathlon
The event takes place adjacent to the Cocoa Beach Country Club and includes triathlon, duathlon, and a separate 5K. The triathlon swim is a 0.25 mile open water swim in the Banana River with beach entry and exit; the swim is supported by more than a dozen certified open water lifeguards and volunteers in kayaks and on paddleboards. The bike leg is a 12 mile out-and-back on coastal highway A1A run in the right hand lane coned to vehicles and supported by Cocoa Beach Police, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and event staff. The run portion is held on the Cocoa Beach Golf Course cart path; finish and transition areas are adjacent to the Country Club near the swim entry and exit.
Distances at the event include:
- Triathlon swim 0.25 mile and bike 12 mile
- Duathlon 1 mile run + 12 mile bike + 3.1 mile run
- Shuttleversary 5K
The event is part of the USA Triathlon State Championship Pilot Program as a 2026 USAT ranking point event. To be eligible for a state championship an athlete must complete at least three USAT sanctioned races in Florida and have a Florida USAT membership address; season ranking points determine champions by age group. Award categories include overall placements, masters, age groups, Athena, fat tire, aquabike, duathlon, Clydesdale, first timer, and relays. Online registration closes April 7 with walk up registration accepted at packet pickup on April 10. The event date is April 11, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
