Trot Against Poverty 5K
The Trot Against Poverty 5K is a community race held on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at Riverside Park in Vero Beach. This is the 19th annual event and it is a professionally timed 5K open to runners, joggers and walkers of all ages. The event includes a free children's 1/4 mile race for ages 6 and under.
Proceeds and participant fundraising benefit United Against Poverty. United Against Poverty works to inspire and empower people living in poverty to reach economic self-sufficiency. Programs supported by the event include the Member Share Grocery Program, the Crisis Stabilization Program, the Success Training Employment Program, and the Build UP three-phase training program for trades and manufacturing careers.
Packets are available for pick up on the two days before the event at the UP Center, 1400 27th Street, Vero Beach, and on race day at the Packet Pick-Up Pavilion in Riverside Park. Registration fees vary by date with an early rate, a later rate, a group discount when four or more register together, and a higher race day fee. Race entries use a bib and timing chip. The event also features a sweet potato pancake breakfast provided by Marsh Landing Restaurant and Saussie Pig, with beverages from Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice.
