Girls on the Run Treasure Coast 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Treasure Coast 5K Celebration is a season-closing event that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event features a 5K course of 3.1 miles and is presented as a celebratory, noncompetitive experience for participants to walk, run, roll, push, or skip at their own pace.
Registered Girls on the Run and Heart and Sole participants who complete the course receive a commemorative medal. Family members, friends, and community participants may also take part but must register separately; Running Buddies are adults who complete the course alongside a participant. Running Buddies and community registrants receive event T-shirts if they register early, while same-day registration is limited and shirts are not guaranteed.
Safety measures include required adult supervision for participants, race bibs provided by the council, designated accessible parking, and a council safety plan that trains staff and volunteers for emergency response. The event site hosts vendors and merchandise booths, inspiration and happy hair stations, water and refreshment areas, and cheer stations along the course. Volunteers support set-up, check-in, course marshaling, water stations, and other event roles; volunteers who work closely with participants are required to complete a background check.
