Shrimp Festival 5K Run Walk
The 29th Annual Shrimp Festival 5K Run Walk takes place in Fernandina Beach, Florida, at Main Beach. Held in conjunction with the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, this event serves as a fundraiser for drowning prevention programs in Nassau County through the McArthur Family YMCA. The race offers distances for various participants:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Run (specifically for children 12 and under)
All finishers in the 5K category receive medals. Awards are presented based on gun time to the top three overall male and female winners, as well as the first-place male and female masters. Age group awards are also provided for the top two male and female finishers in each category. A dedicated Kid Zone is featured as part of the event activities.
Participants can pick up their race packets at the YMCA located on Citrona Drive the day before the event. Registration fees vary depending on the date of entry, with an early cutoff for guaranteed race shirts. Registration remains available online until the evening before the race, with cash or check options provided on the day of the event.
