Firecracker 5K - Amelia Island
The event includes a chip timed 5K run or walk and a non-timed 1 mile kids fun run. Both start and finish at Omni Amelia Island Racquet Park, located at 102 Racquet Park Drive next to the Verandah restaurant in Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. The 5K course runs through a tree-canopied resort area.
Distances:
- 5K Run/Walk - chip timed, 3.1 miles
- Kids 1 mile Fun Run - not chip timed
Timing and race rules note that the 5K will use a disposable timing chip attached to the back of the bib and that bibs must be worn on the front for accurate timing. Running or walking is acceptable on the course. No animals or bicycles are allowed on the course. Awards are offered in an open division with top three male and top three female finishers, plus top three in multiple age groups including 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, and 90 plus. All participants receive a finisher medal.
Registration opens December 1, 2025. 5K entry fees vary by date: before April 30, 2026 the adult fee is $40 and child fee is $20; before June 27, 2026 the adult fee is $45 and child fee is $20; after June 28, 2026 the adult fee is $55 and child fee is $25.
