Race to Conserve at Ann & Chuck Dever Environmental Park
The event on Saturday, February 28, 2026, is organized at Ann & Chuck Dever Environmental Park, 6941 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224. The program includes a timed 5K run and an untimed walk option with marked 1K and 5K routes.
- 5K run - timed; ages 8 and up only.
- 1K to 5K walk - not timed; distance selectable by walkers.
A registration deadline of January 28, 2026 at midnight guarantees an event shirt. Packet pick-up details are to be announced. A water station will be located at the 1.50 mile marker of the 5K and water will be handed out at the finish; walkers are advised to bring their own water for the route. Timing is provided by Beach Bum Timing.
The route enters the park’s natural area; trails are maintained but preserved in a natural state and may include uneven surfaces, roots, leaves and branches. Caution-Tree Roots signs will be posted and closed-toe footwear is recommended. Leashed dogs are permitted in accordance with park rules; non-retractable leashes are preferred.
Post-race snacks and information booths from local environmental groups will be available. A silent auction and a 50/50 raffle will be held on site. Proceeds from the event will be used toward future land acquisition purchases by the organizing conservancy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
