Event overview
Fools Run 5k - World's Okayest Run takes place on April 4, 2026, in Venice, Florida. The event is based at Legacy Park, 395 E. Venice Ave., Venice, FL 34285. The program includes an in-person 5k, a virtual 5k, and a separate "FIRST 25" entry for the earliest registrants. The in-person race is chip timed. Participants may run, walk, skip, or use a stroller.
Registration, fees and participant services
In-person entry is listed at $35, with a youth rate of $25 for ages 1-14. The virtual event fee is $45. The FIRST 25 entry was priced at $50 and is marked sold out. The general entry fee increases after March 29, 2026. The FIRST 25 registration closed March 6, 2026; virtual registration closed March 30, 2026.
All finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards will be provided by a local apparel sponsor. Postrace food and drinks are listed as provided by Chick-fil-A Pelican Plaza. Virtual participants are to receive mailed swag approximately two weeks after the live event.
Packet pickup is available at Gulf Breeze Apparel, 606 Cypress Ave, Venice, on April 2 and April 3, and on race morning under the pavilion. Packets not collected before the race start will be forfeited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
