Relay for Life Purple Glow 5K
This event is part of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Founders Square in Babcock Ranch, Punta Gorda, Florida.
Two events are offered:
- Relay For Life Purple Glow 5K: A 5 km run/walk.
- Untimed Purple Glow Walk 5K: A 5 km walk.
The 5K run/walk is professionally chip-timed by Beach Bum Timing and has no time cap. Participants can bring strollers and leashed dogs, though they must start at the back.
Entry fees are tiered. The price for the timed 5K increases after February 28, 2026. On race day, registration costs $40. Participants aged 18 and under receive discounted pricing. Payment on race day is by credit card or Apple Pay only; cash is not accepted.
There will be an in-person awards ceremony. Awards are given for overall winners and age group finishers across many categories, from 9 & under to 70+. Awards and race shirts will not be mailed.
Packet pickup is available on two days before the race at the Babcock Ranch Lifestyle Office. Race day packet pickup and registration opens at 5:30 PM.
The event provides post-race refreshments. A water station is located at the halfway point of the course and at the finish line. Restrooms are next to the start line, and free parking is available near Founders Square. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
