Maine Marathon
The Maine Community Bank Maine Marathon is a nonprofit road race organized by the Maine Track Club and held in Portland, Maine. The 2026 event is the 35th edition and takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The race weekend features multiple event formats that start and finish along Baxter Boulevard at Portland’s Back Cove.

The course is described as scenic, with rolling hills, ocean views and fall foliage, and it passes sections lined with spectators. Portland is presented as a city with an active arts scene, historic areas and a notable food and beer scene; the city is about two hours from Boston and has direct flights from Washington DC, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta and New York City.
Giving back to the community is a central aim. Since 1997 the event and its participants have raised nearly $9,000,000 for charity. In 2025 the race donated $793,285 and reported that 40% of revenue was donated that year. More than 900 volunteers supported the 2025 event.
