Overview
The Maine Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026 in Portland, Maine. The event includes in-person races and a set of virtual events that are open for a defined window. In-person entry fees are listed between $50 and $120. Virtual registration is listed at $35.

The races use an out-and-back course with rolling hills. The course offers views of the Portland skyline, Back Cove, Casco Bay, and fall foliage. The Marathon and the Half Marathon are USATF certified. The Marathon is listed as a Boston Marathon qualifier.

The virtual events are open from Saturday, Sept. 26 through Monday, Oct. 12. Participants may complete the distance at any location during that window. Virtual results may be uploaded automatically via RaceJoy or submitted manually; results will only be accepted during the open dates.

The start/finish area is listed at Baxter Boulevard, Portland, ME 04101. Runners who have achieved specified performance standards since Oct. 1, 2024 may be eligible for a comp race entry.
