Lilac Festival Run & Walk, Mackinac Island
The Lilac Festival Run & Walk takes place on June 6, 2026 as part of the 78th Mackinac Island Lilac Festival. The event program includes a main 10 km race and a separate children's run held on the school lawn.
Distances
- 10 km road race through the island
- Kids run, 150 or 300 yards on the school lawn
The 10K course runs on paved, tree-covered roads through the center of the island, passes historic landmarks and rolling hills, and finishes along the shore road with views of the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge on the horizon. The race starts in front of Wyndamere Park on Main Street and finishes at the Mackinac Island Public School yard.
Packet pickup is held at the Mackinac Island Public School in the days around the event. There is no official monitored gear check; participants may leave gear in the school gymnasium at their own risk, and lockers are available at the ferry docks.
All finishers in the Lilac races receive medals. Pre-registered entrants are guaranteed event shirts. Post-race refreshments are provided and race photos are available to participants at no charge. Fudge awards are given to overall and masters winners and to the top three in each age division. The event offers a Trio Series option that awards a separate medal to participants who complete the specified three RunMackinac races, including virtual completions under the event terms.
Entry fees include an $8 park usage fee. Events are non-refundable; options such as deferral, transfer, or conversion to the virtual race are available under the event policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
