Mackinac Island Lilac Festival 10K
The event offers a main 10 kilometer course on Mackinac Island and a separate kids race on the school grounds. The route begins at Windemere Park, passes through the historic downtown, climbs Mission Hill, continues along tree-covered paved roads in the island center, and follows the shoreline for the final miles with views of the Mackinac Bridge, finishing at Mackinac Island Public School.

There are multiple event options: an in-person 10K run, a 10K walk that requires walking the entire distance with no running permitted, a virtual 10K that is completed independently with race clothing and awards mailed to participants, and a children’s race held on the school lawn with two short distances. Children who participate receive a shirt and a medal.
The event is part of the Mackinac Island Trio Series. Completing the required combination of races including the Lilac Festival 10K and other specified island races earns a separate Trio Series medal that is awarded after the Great Turtle Half Marathon.
