Event Overview
The Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run is a non-competitive running event held on the Mackinac Bridge. The event is organized by the Michigan Fitness Foundation and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports, with support from the Mackinac Bridge Authority and the Michigan Department of Transportation. It is described as the only running event on the Mackinac Bridge.
The Course
The course runs across the Mackinac Bridge, known as the "Mighty Mac." The bridge is noted as the longest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere and the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world. The run is approximately 4.3 miles in distance and is not certified for accuracy. All participants are expected to finish the entire distance.
