Event overview
The Great Turtle race weekend on Mackinac Island includes a Half Marathon and a 5.7 Mile Run and Walk, plus virtual options for both distances. The event takes place on Mackinac Island, with the primary location listed as One Lakeshore Drive, in front of Mission Point Resort. All registered participants receive a commemorative garment, a finish medal, free digital photos, and post-race refreshments.

Courses and race services
The Half Marathon begins in front of Mission Point Resort and follows the shoreline before moving onto interior bike trails and roads, returning to finish in the park in front of Mission Point Resort. The 5.7 Mile event begins in front of Straits Lodge (corner of Wendall Street and Mission Street) and finishes at the same park. Roads are mostly paved with some gravel and dirt bike trails. Water stations are located about every 2.5 miles. Porta-johns are available at the start/finish area; restrooms at Arch Rock and British Landing may be used along the course. There is no monitored gear check; the Sound Stage can be used to leave gear but valuables are not recommended. Rental lockers are available at ferry docks.
Awards and age divisions
Awards are given to overall male and female winners, overall masters male and female, and the top three in each age division. Age divisions for the Half Marathon and 5.7 Mile Run are listed starting with youth categories and then five-year increments up to 85 & over; walk divisions start at 19 & under. A separate Mackinac Island Trio Series medal is awarded to participants who complete three qualifying RunMackinac events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
