The Great Turtle Trail Run takes place on Mackinac Island and offers on-island and virtual options for runners and walkers during the island's late fall weekend. The event includes multiple distances and finishes in the park in front of Mission Point Resort.

Course and logistics
The half marathon begins in front of Mission Point Resort and the 5.7 mile events begin in front of Straits Lodge at Wendall and Mission Streets. Courses follow the shoreline for sections and then wind through the island interior on bike trails and roads. Surfaces are mostly paved with some gravel. Water stations are placed at approximately every 2.5 miles. Porta-johns are available at the half marathon start/finish; restrooms are also located at Arch Rock and British Landing.
Participant items and services
All registrants receive a commemorative garment and a finish medal. Free digital photos and post-race refreshments are provided. Packet pickup is at the Mission Point Resort Sound Stage on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning prior to the races. A Mackinac Island State Park Usage Fee is included in registration.
Rules, timing and awards
No roller blades or wheeled vehicles are allowed on course. Baby joggers and pets are discouraged. Headphones may be used with one earpiece out. The half marathon has a suggested completion guideline of 3.5 hours. Awards are given to overall male and female winners, overall masters, and top three in each age division. Those who complete three of the island series races receive a separate Trio Series medal awarded after the half marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
