Double Bridge Run
The Pensacola Double Bridge Run offers two organized races held along a coastal course that finishes at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk parking lot. Distances offered:
- 15K
- 5K
The 15K course starts at Maritime Park (301 West Main Street, Pensacola) and carries runners over two bridges across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. The route passes downtown Pensacola, the historic district, Bayfront Parkway, Gulf Breeze, and continues onto Pensacola Beach. The 5K starts at 10 Daniel Street in Gulf Breeze (adjacent to the Gulf Breeze High School football field) and travels to Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island and the Gulf Islands Seashore.
Both races use IPICO electronic timing with disposable bib chips; net time is used for age category scoring while overall awards use gun time. The 15K has a corral start and requires runners to maintain a 14-minute per mile pace. Aid stations provide spring water, medical support, and portable toilets; the 15K has multiple stations and the 5K has at least one station.
A gear bag check operates at both start areas; participants must use the clear bag provided at packet pickup. Packet pickup and the race expo occur before the race and include vendor booths; proxy packet pickup is available. No day of race registration is offered. Strollers, bikes, rollerblades, and dogs are not allowed in either race. Participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt while supplies last and a finisher medal; race photos are made available after the event.
