Pensacola Beach Turkey Trot
The Pensacola Beach Turkey Trot, also called Trot for Thought, is an annual running event held on Thanksgiving Day along Pensacola Beach in Florida. The main distance is a 5k run. Proceeds support brain cancer research and the Tisch Tumor Center at Duke University.
The event typically attracts more than 1,000 participants from across the United States and includes activities for multiple ages. A Kid's Turkey Dash is offered alongside the 5k. The race program includes a costume contest with prizes that have included medals and cups.
Packet and T shirt pickup is scheduled on the two days before the event at Laguna’s Beach Bar + Grill, with same day pickup available at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach. T shirts for the 5k are limited to the first 1,500 runners and the first 100 T shirts are reserved for Turkey Dash participants.
