Acadia Half Marathon and 10K
The Acadia Half Marathon and 10K take place on 06/06/2027 in Bar Harbor, Maine, on Mount Desert Island. The event includes the following distances:
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon on Acadia National Park Loop road
- 10K running race
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon - Walker walking only
The half marathon course travels on the Acadia National Park Loop road and runs along Maine’s rocky coastline, cliffs and mountains. Mount Desert Island contains about 41,000 acres devoted to Acadia National Park. The course may be adjusted for closures or construction.
The Mount Desert Island YMCA organizes the event with an emphasis on sustainability because the course passes through the national park. For 2027 the event is cupless; paper cups are eliminated to reduce waste. All half marathon runners receive a race-branded reusable silicone cup at bib pick. Participants may bring a personal reusable cup, a handheld water bottle, or a hydration pack. 10K runners may purchase a race-branded reusable silicone cup during registration if they register before February 1.
There is no race day packet pickup. Registration opens 9/21/2026 at 12:00. Half Marathon and Half Marathon - Walker registration closes 9/27/2026 at 23:59 with a fee of $120.00. 10K registration closes 11/30/2026 at 23:59 with a fee of $65.00.
