Acadia Half Marathon and 10K
The event in Bar Harbor, Maine offers running and walking options on Mount Desert Island through Acadia National Park. Distances include:
- 13.1 miles half marathon for runners.
- 13.1 miles half marathon for walkers.
- 10K road race.
The course primarily follows the Acadia National Park Loop Road and passes coastline, cliffs, mountains and sea. The organizer notes the course may be adjusted for closures or construction. There are six water stations on the course where paper cups will be available.
Registration opens September 1, 2025. Some race entries close October 10, 2025 while the 10K registration remains open until February 13, 2026. Entry fees listed for 2026 are $120.00 for half marathon entries and $65.00 for the 10K.
There is no race day packet pickup. The Mount Desert Island YMCA describes an environmental focus for the event and is moving toward cupless races. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable cup, handheld water bottle or hydration pack to help reduce paper cup waste; the organizer reports the event has produced over 6000 paper cups per race in the past.
