Acadia Half Marathon and 10K - Bar Harbor, ME
The Acadia Half Marathon and 10K is organized by the Mount Desert Island YMCA in Bar Harbor. The event includes a half marathon and a 10K held on roads that travel through Acadia National Park and along Maine’s rocky coastline. The half marathon follows the Acadia National Park Loop road for 13.1 miles and features views of mountains, sea, cliffs, and coastline. Mount Desert Island contains about 41,000 acres devoted to Acadia National Park.
Event details note that there is no race day packet pickup. The half marathon events are currently full and a waitlist has been created; the 10K still has available entries.
The organizer describes an environmental program for the race. There are six water stations that will provide paper cups in 2026, and the race team reports that paper cups historically made up a large share of race waste. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable cup, handheld bottle, or hydration pack as the event moves toward more cupless practices over coming years.
