Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest - Blue Hill, ME
Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest is a multi-distance trail event held on and around Blue Hill Mountain, a 934-foot monadnock conserved by Blue Hill Heritage Trust. The event offers multiple distance options and loops that use local trails and roads.
Available distances:
- 50k - 7 full figure-eight loops.
- 25k - Three full figure-eight loops after a shorter upper loop.
- 10k - One upper loop plus a full figure-eight loop.
- 5k - Short out-and-back, then Osgood Trail summit and Service Road descent.
Course descriptions note a mix of open fields, densely forested technical trails, and coastal viewpoints. The figure-eight loop structure routes runners along Mountain Road, Pleasant Street, Post Office Trail, Osgood Trail and the Service Road trail to reach the summit and return to the start/finish area.
The race hub is the main aid station at the start/finish with hydration, snacks including vegan options and regional baked goods. A smaller aid station sits at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Road intersection. Drop bags are available for 25k and 50k runners. Support crew may be present for 25k and 50k runners at Osgood/Mountain Road; pacers are not allowed.
Packet pickup will occur in the Mountain Road field the day before the event. Profits from the event are transferred to Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance. Fees are waived for Wabanaki Tribal Members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
