About the race
Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest is a multi-distance trail race and community gathering on Blue Hill Mountain near the coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine. The event offers several race distances and repeated loop formats around the mountain.

Course notes: The 5k starts at the Mountain Rd field, follows a short out-and-back on Post Office Trail, then ascends Osgood Trail to the summit before descending the Service Road trail back to the field. The 10k includes an upper loop to a first summit and a full figure-eight loop that returns to a second summit. The 25k is three full figure-eight loops following a shorter upper loop. The 50k is seven full figure-eight loops.
Terrain and aid: The route passes fields of wildflowers and densely forested, technical singletrack, with coastal viewpoints from the summit. The main aid station is at the race hub with hydration, snacks (salty, sweet, vegan) and whoopie pies; a smaller aid station at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Rd intersection provides water, electrolytes and limited snacks. Drop bags are available for 25k and 50k runners.
Support and rules: Crews may be stationed for 25k and 50k runners at Osgood/Mountain Rd. Pacers are not allowed for any category. Event proceeds are transferred to Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance.
Blue Hill Mountain is a 934-foot monadnock known locally as Awanadjo, meaning "small, misty mountain," and is mostly conserved under Blue Hill Heritage Trust. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
