Catch that Turkey 5k
The Catch that Turkey 5k is a community running event held on November 29, 2026, in Bar Harbor, Maine at 21 Park St. The event features a 5K course and is organized to benefit the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
A YMCA staff member will run dressed as a turkey and will be given a slight head start. Participants who catch the turkey are entered into a grand prize raffle. Anyone who beats the turkey will have their name entered into a separate raffle for items from Bartlett Bakery. Walkers are encouraged to participate.
Registration opens on September 30, 2026, and closes on November 28, 2026. Standard registration fee is $25.00. The race is capped at 150 participants; if spots remain, day-of registration will be available on race day at a $30 fee. Number pickup and day-of registration take place at the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
All participants aged 17 years and older must have a park pass. The event previously sold out before race day. All proceeds benefit the Mount Desert Island YMCA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
