Catch that Turkey 5k
The Catch that Turkey 5k in Bar Harbor, Maine, takes place on 11/29/2026 at 21 Park St. A YMCA staff member dressed as a turkey will start with a slight head start; participants who catch or beat the turkey are entered into raffles, including a grand prize and a dessert.
The event offers a 5K distance. Registration opens 09/30/2026 and closes 11/28/2026. The regular registration fee is $25 and, if spots remain, race day registration is available for $30.
Number pickup and day of registration are available at the Mount Desert Island YMCA on race day morning. The field is capped at 150 participants and the event sold out before race day last year. Walkers are encouraged to participate. All participants 17 years or older need a park pass. All proceeds benefit the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
