Overview
8 Hours of Hell was a monthly trail running series in Southwest Florida. Events took place once a month from May through October on six different trails in Lee, Charlotte and Sarasota counties. Course loop lengths ranged from 3 to 5 miles, and some courses allowed a partial-lap bailout. Race packets included a different goodie at each race, such as pint glasses, SAAKA headbands, bandannas, collapsible cups, Injinji toe socks, car magnets, hand towels, and Covid masks. All 8 Hours of Hell participants received custom finisher dog tags for each race.
A separate 4 Hours of Fun event was offered to let newer runners and road runners explore local trails and parks and experience an Ultra Aid Station. Miles run during the 4 Hours of Fun did not count toward the 8 Hours of Hell series unless the runner later entered an 8 Hours of Hell race.
