About the race
The Cobble Hill event takes place at Nature Quarry Park in Cobble Hill, BC, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Cowichan Tribes. The race uses single-track trails around the Cobble Hill Mountain Recreation area and provides mapped routes and Strava files for course planning.
Distances offered:
- 26 km long course
- 12 km short course
- 1 km kids race
The long course lists approximately 1188 m of vertical gain and aid stations positioned around 7 km, 15 km, and 21 km. The short course lists approximately 640 m of vertical gain and an aid station at 7 km. The long course includes cutoff points at the short/long split and near the 15 km mark.
The kids race is roughly 1 km and its registration fees support the Cowichan Valley Trailblazers Society. Race bibs are available at the registration tent and require a government-issued photo ID to pick up.
There is no parking at Nature Quarry Park. Participants may use designated parking areas along Hutchinson Road, Watson Avenue, and Fisher Avenue. Parking on Empress Road, Cobble Hill Road, Shawnigan Lake Road, and in business parking lots is prohibited. Carpooling is recommended where possible.
Aid stations provide water, Gatorade, fruit, chips, pickles, and other snacks. The event is cupless; participants must bring a personal drinking container or purchase a cup from the event merch tent. Post-race nutrition and a prize draw are provided at the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
