Cowichan Autumn Classic
The Cowichan Autumn Classic takes place in Duncan, British Columbia, centered around the Glenora area. The event offers participants the opportunity to explore the Trans Canada Trail and the grounds of the Zanatta Estate Winery. The routes feature views of the Holt Creek Trestle, a structure dating back to 1922, and the surrounding vineyard landscape during the fall season.
Available distances include:
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- 1 km Kids Race
The 1 km dash is designed for children aged 1 to 10 and takes place through the vineyards. Each child receives a personalized bib and a finisher treat. For adult participants, the event includes a monogrammed wine glass with a tasting at the finish line, an original finisher medal, and post-race food.
The courses utilize the Trans Canada Trail, known for its tranquil environment. Many participants choose to wear costumes in celebration of the Halloween season, and awards are presented to the top three finishers in each 10-year age division. The event supports KidSport Cowichan, a local charity. Both in-person and virtual participation options are available.
Registration is conducted online in advance, with early bib pick-up typically held the day before the event at Glenora Hall. There is no registration available on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
