About the race
Girls on the Run Upstate South Carolina holds a 5K Celebration as the closing event for each program season. The fall 2026 event is scheduled for November 14, 2026 at BridgeWay Station in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The 5K course is a paved 3.1 mile route designed to be accessible for people using wheelchairs or strollers. The event emphasizes achievement and inclusion.
Program participants receive a commemorative medal, and registered 5K Buddies and community participants who register by April 10 receive a swag bag and a t shirt. Family members and community participants may join the event but must register; program participants and coaches are already registered through the council. Liability waivers are required with registration. Safety and event logistics are managed by the council: every participant wears a race bib, each participant is paired with a running buddy, the course is monitored with head counts, and staff and volunteers follow an established safety plan.
Participants are invited to walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. Additional on site elements include pre 5K activities such as Happy Hair, Bling Your Bib, a dance party and warm ups.
